Yang accused of fanning conflict among Donga Mantung CPDM elite

The move is seen as thwarting the possibility of the PM post going to Donga Mantung
By Tamfu Harrison Bawe in Yaounde
Prime Minister Philemon Yang is so bent on keeping the Star Building job that he is not leaving anything to chance. Initially quoted by cronies as saying he would not loose any tear if he were sacked at any time, Yang, The Guardian Post has been told, has so developed interest in the premier job that he has undertaken to fight anyone he suspects could take over his position.
Not only is Yang hoping to keep the job for as long as Peter Mafany Musonge did (over nine years), he now reportedly sees the prospect of keeping the Star Building job for a long period as a do or die affair. But the wish to stay on for long is being haunted, albeit seriously, by wild running rumours at very high quarters that the Star Building job will leave Bui division to Donga Mantung in the days ahead. Apparently to thwart that from happening, Yang, we were further told, has embarked on a desperate mission to fan an imaginary conflict between CPDM elite of the area.
The move, Donga Mantung CPDM bigwigs told The Guardian Post, is to give the impression to President Biya that the division is divided against itself and so cannot produce the next PM.
Yet, Donga Mantung CPDM barons have told The Guardian Post on condition of anonymity that to succeed in his mission of projecting the division as a divided house, Yang has employed the services of one of his stooges and bootlickers, Fuh Calistus Gentry. The man who is famously referred to by political analysts in Donga Mantung as a “Jonny Just Come” and “a Political Greenhorn” is the secretary of state in the ministry of mines and technological development. Fuh Calistus, Donga Mantung CPDM bigwigs say, is now the man Yang is parading the corridors of power with, in Yaounde, as the “Donga Mantung CPDM political leader”.
If it was only being rumoured, Yang’s unbending bid to fan an imaginary conflict among Donga Mantung CPDM came to public view during celebrations marking President Biya’s 30 years in power; on November 6, 2012.
Apparently seeing the day as a God-given opportunity to smash those who he suspects could be appointed PM either from Ndu or Nkambe subdivisions, Yang, of all places, decided to celebrate President Biya’s 30th anniversary in the little-known Misaje subdivision.
Even CPDM barons out of Donga Mantung and the North West have told The Guardian Post that there was more to Yang’s trip to Misaje on November 6, 2012 than meet the eye.
Not only was it the first time a PM was celebrating President Biya’s anniversary out of his subdivision or division; Yang’s intention, CPDM militants in Ndu and Nkambe hold, was to give the impression that Misaje is the “bastion” of the CPDM in Donga Mantung division.
Even though the population of Misaje subdivision from where Fuh Calistus hails is about one tenth that of Ndu and Nkambe subdivisions, the area has “won” the last two elections; thanks mainly to a sophisticated rigging machinery that is being commandeered by the man (Fuh Calistus) who is being considered by many as “Yang’s errand boy”.
In the opinion of many political observers, elections have never been rigged anywhere in Cameroon since the advent of multi-party politics like was carried out in Misaje during the 2007 municipal and parliamentary polls and the 2011 presidential elections
Bubble however recently burst when Fuh Calistus’ election-rigging partners in crime accused him of abandoning them in misery and “chopping” alone in Yaounde.
