New MINFOPRA SG takes command

By Sally Ncha Amoh, UB student journalist on internship in Yaounde
The new secretary general of the ministry of public service and administrative reforms, Ngambo Fondjo Pierre Vincent has taken up functions. Ngambo was officially installed, last Friday by the minister of public service and administrative reforms Angouin Michel Angeù. The ceremony that took place at the Yaounde ENAM Amphitheatre was attended by Ngambo’s tribesmen and officials of his ministry.
It should be recalled that Ngambo was among some newly appointed secretaries general of ministries by the September 14, 2012 presidential decree. He replaces Mbeh Yvonne, technical adviser no 1 at same ministry who was until then acting in the interim.
Before his call to MINFOPRA, Ngambo Pierre Vincent was secretary general of the then ministry of youth affairs, presently ministry of youth affairs and civic education. Haven occupied the position of chief of service, sub-director, director of state personnel as well as technical adviser in the ministry of public service and administrative reforms at sundry times, his return to MINFOPRA was termed by minister Angouin Michel as “a return home”.
“MINFOPRA plays a vital role in the modernization of the Cameroonian civil service”, spelt out minister Angouin to the new secretary general, while reiterating the fact that their performance will be measured by the quality of services rendered to both direct and indirect users. In the minister’s words, the new SG’s duty in sum will be to “put everything in action, in a bid to ameliorate the quality of services rendered by MINFOPRA”.
Speaking at the installation ceremony, the MINFOPRA boss urged the new SG to use his rich experience in the ministry to stamp out amongst other plaguing ills, corruption and “every act geared at smearing the image of our ministry”.
