Press Release: Balikumbat Development Organization (BADO)


Following the passing into eternity of Hon. Fon Doh Gahgwanyin III of Balikumbat, an enlarged meeting of the National Executive Bureau (NEB) of the Balikumbat Development Organisation (BADO) held this Saturday 8th September 2012 at the BADO multipurpose community hall presided over by the president general of the organization, Mr. Dingha Ignatius Bayin. The NEB meeting that was enlarged to include some top ranking internal and external elite of Balikumbat extraction, King makers and the Chairman of the Traditional Council deliberated for over three hours on the modalities of a befitting funeral ceremony of the late Hon. Fon Doh Gahgwanyin III.
Apart from mobilization towards the general clean up of the village, providing some important infrastructure and fixing varying levies for all Balikumbat sons and daughters in and out of the village, a steering committee was formed headed by Hon. Banmi Emmanuel Dingha assisted by Dr. Nwana Sama Bernard and Col. Doh Kohtem Godfrey that shall take charge of various aspects of preparation for the celebration of the life of the fallen Fon Doh Gahgwanyin III come November 17, 2012.
Seven Ad-hoc Committees were also formed including infrastructure headed by Doh Sama Juma Ignatius assisted by Dr. Lesigha Pius, Protocol headed by Doh Gabsa Nyugha Sixtus assisted by Mr. Dohkuna Fidelis, Finance headed by Doh Gwanjack Bitoa Michael assisted by Mr. Geyek William Nuah, security headed by Doh Sama Albert assisted by Commissioner Galabe Fidelis, Mobilisation and human investment headed by Doh Kentibe Peter assisted by Mr. Sama Benjamen Woba, Food headed by Mrs. Neba Irene assisted by Mme. Sama Esther and drinks headed by Mr. Segha Eric assisted by Mr. Tafili Magnus.
Before the meeting wound off, an on the spot contribution in cash and pledges amounted to 3.5 million francs was raised. The financial contributions shall continue at all zonal and sub-zonal levels of BADO for a targeted 30 million francs.
It is worth noting that the Divisional Officer of Balikumbat, Mr. Ndimbeu Diefe Jean-Marie and the Gendarmerie Brigade commander, Logim Bekono were all in attendance. Hon. Banmi Emmanuel admonished leaders of ad-hoc committees to come up with executable projects of their committees in 10 days.
