Health officials have expressed fears
with the rapid spread of Cholera in Cameroon since April 2014.
Initially confined to the Far North
region, health observers told press men that the disease is now spreading to
other regions, with 2 cases already in the Littoral.
Of the 1609 cases recorded so far, there
are indications that 74 of the victims died.
According to officials of the ministry
of public health, the first cases this year in the Far North were discovered in
the Hina health district. Those cases are reported to have come from
neighbouring Nigeria.
However, health authorities have
continued to regularly supply the affected regions with drugs, equipments for
water purification and cleansing of the environment.
