The Cameroon People’s Party, CPP has convened its
annual congress from October 30 to November 2, 2014. The information
was disclosed to Meme CPP militants during a two-day workshop which took place
in Kumba last week.
It is not yet clear where exactly the convention will
hold, but CPP barons say Sangmalima, Douala or Yaounde will host the over 1000
delegates expected to attend the congress from across the country and abroad.
Meanwhile, the July 26 – 27 workshop that had as resource
persons Mbama Etienne, chief of mobilization and Edna Njilin, a founding member
of the CPP had as main objective to improve the knowledge of CPP militants in
the understanding of the vision of the party in 2014 and the current activities,
develop an action plan and keep the flame of the party burning.
Mbama equally lectured on the mission of the party,
its target groups, general structure, key management principles, internal
funding and the CPP action for 2014 amongst other things.
The duo further informed CPP militants that the
congress is a national meeting of militants from each region to reflect on the
management of the party for the next three years and that the congress will also focus on improving the organization
of the party , revising its statues and electing new leaders.
Militants were also briefed on the profile of the
delegates, election, participation of the regions at the congress and what each
region would be expected to contribute for the running of the congress.
The party officials also urged their militants to
register on the electoral list in order to have the franchise to vote for the
upcoming elections. Also in attendance was the CPP Meme coordinator, Ngoh
Eseme. The CPP party was created on the December 26, 1991.
