Bawe in Yaounde
The
World Transport fair, code-named ATREXPO 2013, to hold at the Yaounde
Conference Centre from 14-17 February
2013, has been given a fillip, following the backing it has received from
Cameroon’s minister of communications, the Chadian business patrons’
organisation, SN-Brussels and the Cameroonian Order of Civil Engineers (CNOCE).
The
endorsement of the initiative by these new participants was announced last
Wednesday, 10 October, in Yaounde by convenors of the trade fair during the
signing of a convention between the Cameroon Order of Engineers and ATREXPO.
The
convention will permit the order to get international exposure and seize
opportunities to win international consultancy contracts. Kizito Ngoa, President
of the National Order of Civil Engineers, signed on behalf of the order, while
Jay Vom Vadiveloo, CEO, ATREXPO, signed for his organization.
Speaking
to the press after the signing of the convention, Jay Vom explained that they
decided to go into such a partnership with the CNOCE because engineers are at
the heart of important transport infrastructure
projects. He said ATREXPO is offering them an advertising package
(stand, exposure on website, etc.) worth 20000 dollars free of charge.
For
his part, Kizito Ngoa, president of CNOCE, said ATREXPO 2013 will be an ideal
occasion for his member to be associated with the huge structural projects
being undertaken in Cameroon and abroad
from the beginning. He said the signing the convention with ATREXPO was enough
assurance that they would not be forgotten during the fallouts of the transport
fair.
Prior
to the signing of the convention, officials of ATREXPO gave an assessment of
the ground covered in terms of preparations for the holding of the fair. It was
announced that 150 participants had booked for stands and in two months time
the full list of participants would be given. It also emerged that thematic
workshops would hold parallel to the fair. Cameroonians were called upon to
ensure the security of the investments of foreign investors. It was agreed that the transport fair would
enable Cameroon to sell itself, its potentials and attract financing for its
structural projects. Journalists were called upon to give the event the widest
publicity to ensure its success.
ATREXPO
2013, the first ever transport exhibition to hold on African soil, will offer
exhibitionists a unique opportunity to meet numerous renowned transport
industry tycoons, the finance world and thousands of target visitors.
